Handover of the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics from Cyprus to Ireland

On Wednesday, 17 June 2026, Cyprus formally handed over the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics to Ireland during a meeting held in Nicosia. The meeting was attended by representatives from the outgoing Trio Presidency (Poland – Denmark – Cyprus) and the incoming Trio (Ireland - Lithuania - Greece) as well as the European Commission (Eurostat).

The current state of play  of legislative dossiers, in particular European Fisheries Statistics and Non-Financial Commercial Real Estate Indices was examined.  The meeting also reviewed the achievements of the outgoing Presidency Trio and surveyed the legislative landscape for the incoming Trio.
